Do long to my Surly LHT

🚴‍♂️ End of an incredible era. 🚴‍♂️
After 17 years, 35,000 miles, countless heavy grocery runs, and unforgettable touring adventures, my trusty Surly Long Haul Trucker has officially earned its retirement.
The down tube finally gave out, cracking right above the bottom bracket joint from decades of hauling heavy loads and putting in the work. In the bike world, 17 years of heavy-duty riding is an honorable, full life for a steel frame. It went down doing exactly what it was built to do: working hard.
This bike carried me through thick and thin, millions of pedal strokes, and a lifetime of memories. The frame is unsafe to ride now, so it’s destined to become a wall trophy to celebrate all those miles.
Time to salvage the parts, hang up the frame, and start looking for the next rig to handle the heavy hauling.
Rest easy, Trucker. Thanks for the ride. 🛠️📦🗺️
